Mrs. Shirley Coats Martin passed away on Monday, November 28, 2016, in Albany, Louisiana, at the age of 92. She was born on Monday, July 28, 1924, in Springfield, Louisiana to the late Willie and Addie Burns Coats.

Shirley is survived by her three daughters & sons-in-law, Shirley & James Flowers, Debbie & Randy Picou, and Pam Martin; one son, Ellis "Marty" Martin; two sisters, Ramona "Sis" Elam and Nina Elam; and one brother, Russell Coats. Also survived by 14 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Winfield Martin; one grandson, Rickey Flowers, III; one sister, Ann Parks; and two brothers, Buster Coats and Jerod "Butch" Coats.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Service at The Mission Church, 41347 W. I-55 SR, Hammond, LA 70403 on Friday, December 2, 2016 at 10:00 am. Visitation will be held at The Mission Church on Thursday, December 1, 2016, from 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm and will continue on Friday, December 2, 2016 from 8:00 am until the funeral service begins at 10:00 am.

Interment will follow in Carter Cemetery, Springfield, Louisiana.
